1) Conduct
a basic test
First of all, ensure that the Deskjet 4100 has a secure
power connection and is plugged into the same Wifi network as your device.
2) Hard
reset
Occasionally, you can fix the problem by power-cycling
your printer. Turn off the Deskjet 4100, unplug the device and then wait for
thirty seconds. You can then plug it back in and turn the Deskjet 4100 on
again.
3) How to
manage the default printer
a) Navigate to the Start option before selecting
Settings. Then go to the Devices option and click on Printers & scanners.
b) In the Printers and scanners list, choose your Deskjet
4100 device to be the default printer.
To dismiss the notification that states, "Windows
will stop managing your default printer for you," click on the OK button.
4) Correct
the Print queue
a) First
follow these steps: Start > Settings > Devices > Printers &
scanners.
b) After
selecting the Deskjet 4100 printer from the available list, choose the Open
queue option.
c) Choose
any document from the list under Document Name, click Document, and then click
Cancel.
5) How to
remove and reinstall the Deskjet 4100
a) Steps to uninstall the Deskjet 4100: Select Start >
Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
After selecting the Deskjet 4100 from the list available
in the Printers & scanners section, click on Remove Device, and then select
Yes.
b) Steps to reinstall the Deskjet 4100: Select Start >
Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
Verify that your printer is connected and switched on.
Choose Reinstall your printer by following the instructions and adding a
printer or scanner.
6) Restart
the computer
Sometimes, restarting your computer will help to reload
the components and services required for your device to connect to your Deskjet
4100 printer.
Mac system
1) If the
Deskjet 4100 is connected to your Mac
Make sure the printer
cord is securely attached and that the Deskjet 4100 is turned on and
plugged into a power outlet if it is linked to your Mac.
2) If the
Deskjet 4100 is connected to Wifi
- In
the event that the Deskjet 4100 is connected to Wifi, confirm that both your
Mac and the printer are still connected to it, that the printer is turned on,
and that there are no network issues.
- If
the network has more than one printer, confirm which one you selected; it might
not be the same as the one you believe you did.
- If
the Deskjet 4100 is connected to the network on your Mac, click on the Printers
& Scanners option in the sidebar by selecting System Settings from the
Apple menu.
- Include
the Deskjet 4100 in the list of printers that are accessible: On the right,
select the Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax button. A window displaying the
printers connected to your local network opens. Your Deskjet 4100 printer might
not show up for a minute or two.
- Try
adding the Deskjet 4100 using its IP address if it still doesn't show up in the
list.
